Free, healthy meals for the disadvantaged

Between the years 2014 and 2016, it’s estimated that one in nine people in the world were suffering from chronic undernourishment. In other words, that’s nearly 800,000,000 people in need of food relief!

  • More than 1,000,000 free meals provided every day
  • More than 10,000 free meals served in Australia every week
  • More than 3,000,000,000 free meals served worldwide since our work began from 1970 onwards

Caring For Life is part of the largest vegetarian/vegan food distribution organisation in the world; ISKCON. Together, we donate more than a million healthy, plant-based meals – every day. These meals feed people living in crisis such as the homeless, the elderly and the poor. Our worldwide ISKCON confederation of over 550 centres distributes these meals to people in over 60 countries.

All these food programs are based on the understanding that certain foods have an inherent ability to heal the body, mind and soul. For this reason we serve only vegetarian food that is prepared with love and is given for free.

This ethical use of food is also better for our environment and global food supplies. Eating in this way reduces global warming, water waste, deforestation, ocean pollution and even the extinction of some species.
